Xanthi & Kavala with your class
This is a destination for groups who want something genuinely different. The programme opens in Xanthi, one of Greece's most culturally layered cities, with Ottoman-era architecture and the river Nestos running through a gorge just beyond the city limits. Students are welcomed by the Mayor, go white-water rafting on the Nestos, and take a birdwatching boat tour across Lake Vistonis. A visit to the local Institute of Language and Speech Processing introduces students to real AI and computational linguistics research. The programme then moves to Kavala for a guided tour of the UNESCO archaeological site of Philippi.
