Why learn Italian in Siena?

Siena is a city frozen in the Middle Ages - a shell-shaped main square, towering Gothic buildings and lanes too narrow for cars. It's traditionally said to speak the purest Italian, and with few tourists lingering in everyday corners, immersion comes naturally.

It suits every profile: students who want serious immersion away from the crowds, juniors after a safe and inspiring base, and adults combining a course with Tuscan wine country. Whatever your level, you'll be placed in the right class from your first morning.

Life in Siena beyond the classroom

Siena is made for slow, immersive days. Our activity programme covers the Piazza del Campo and the cathedral, the contrada neighbourhoods behind the famous Palio horse race, Tuscan cooking and wine tastings, and weekend trips to San Gimignano, Florence and the Chianti hills.

Getting around is best on foot - the centre is small, car-free and made for walking - with buses to the rest of Tuscany. Accommodation places you within 15–30 minutes of your school, in an Italian host family or a central residence.

Not at all - it's compact but lively, with a big student population, and Florence is just an hour away. Many learners prefer it precisely because immersion is so complete.
