Why use a local guide?

Arriving in a new country is exciting — and overwhelming. Belgian bureaucracy, the Brussels school system and the city's three languages make even simple tasks surprisingly complex for newcomers.

On the move knows Brussels inside out. We've helped dozens of expat families navigate the school search, the commune registration, the healthcare system and the practicalities of daily life — so you settle in faster, with less stress.

Frequently asked questions

No — school search is often the starting point, but we cover the full settling-in process: commune registration, health insurance, orientation, administrative checklist and ongoing support for the first months.

We cover international schools (IB, British, American), the European Schools, French-speaking state and private schools, and Dutch-speaking schools. We match the shortlist to your children's ages, languages and curriculum preferences.

Our team works in English, French and Dutch. We can accompany you to school visits and administrative appointments and translate where needed.

As early as possible — Brussels international schools in particular have waiting lists. Contacting us 3–6 months before your arrival gives us the best chance of securing your first choice.
