Les Deux Alpes with your class
Rising above its valley in the French Alps, Les Deux Alpes is one of the highest and best-known ski areas in Europe, a true classic for school groups and a brilliant place to learn. Its wide, well-groomed pistes and reliable snow make it ideal for first-timers, while the breadth of the area gives more confident skiers plenty of room to progress. For a secondary group, it offers the complete ski-week experience: structured tuition by day, a lively social programme by night, and the particular camaraderie that only a week on the mountain creates.
The heart of the trip is daily ski instruction. Groups are split by ability and taught by qualified local instructors across morning and afternoon sessions, with a picnic lunch out on the slopes in between. Complete beginners go from clipping in for the first time to linking turns with real confidence over the course of the week, while experienced skiers refine technique and explore more of the mountain. The progression is fast, visible and hugely motivating, students surprise themselves daily.
Off the slopes, the week is just as memorable. Evenings bring a social programme built for teenagers, laser game, bowling and a farewell party to round things off, alongside shared meals and downtime back at the accommodation. It's in these moments, as much as on the pistes, that a year group bonds: tired, exhilarated and full of stories from the day.
A ski week asks something of students, early starts, physical effort, perseverance through the inevitable falls, and gives a great deal back. Many return having discovered a sport they'll keep for life, and all return more confident, more resilient and closer as a group.
