Dutch Coast & Leiden with your class
Pupils study fossil identification, coastal geology and biodiversity at Naturalis before taking that knowledge out onto rocky North Sea beaches for practical fieldwork. The contrast between museum science and lived coastal experience makes the learning stick. The programme works as a standalone field trip or as part of a longer Netherlands stay.
Leiden’s compact, canal-laced historic centre adds a cultural dimension, and the city’s university town atmosphere gives the trip a genuine academic feel.

Seaside Classes - your questions
Our Belgian Coast programme is designed for P3–P4 (ages 8–10) and is available as a day trip. Secondary programmes on the Dutch coast and Picardy suit ages 12–16, with content adapted to each year group.
Yes. All water-based activities are run by qualified, certified instructors with the correct ratios and safety equipment. Non-swimmers are always catered for.
