Picardy & the Somme Bay with your class
The programme moves between the wild and the structured: a guided seal walk along the bay, a discovery visit to the Parc du Marquenterre ornithological reserve, land sailing on the wide beaches of the Opal Coast, and an afternoon in the medieval port of Saint-Valery-sur-Somme. Every day the North Sea landscape does the teaching.
On the Move is the officially accredited school trips provider for the European Schools in Belgium — every trip has a dedicated project manager with 24/7 emergency support.
Trip highlights
A guided two-hour walk along the edge of the bay near the Hourdel lighthouse, where grey seals bask on sandbanks — one of the most memorable wildlife encounters available this close to Belgium
A guided discovery visit to one of France's finest ornithological reserves, where thousands of migratory birds converge each year across a landscape of dunes, marshes and coastal meadows
An initiation session in land sailing on the wide, windswept beaches of the Opal Coast — fast, thrilling, and unlike anything most students will have tried before
